The best locations in Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a country defined in its own motto: Pure life. A nation encased in Central America open to visitors, half of its territory covered with forests and jungles, 25% of it protected under the figure of reserve or natural park.

The Republic of Costa Rica, with its exuberant rainforests, volcanoes, paradisiacal beaches and its incredible biodiversity is always a good place to visit. Bathed by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, this country is ideal for any type of audiovisual production or photo shooting with a wild air.

National parks of Costa Rica

The country could practically be divided into reserves and parks and there would not be a lonely corner because if Costa Rica stands out for its vegetation and biodiversity.

National Park of Manuel Antonio

It is one of the most spectacular, in the province of Puntarenas. Its paradisiacal beaches, its air of relaxation, vegetation and fauna make everyone visiting it does not want to leave. Yes, beware of monkeys, raccoons or other animals, they may try to steal your food. Spectacular landscapes to get the best result in your audiovisual project.

Corcovado National Park

It’s like entering a National Geographic documentary in itself, an adventure. A few lodges and campsites are the only accommodations you will find before touring the park for several days from the south. In Corcovado live more than 200 species of mammals, including the main cats of the American continent such as the jaguar, the puma, the jaguarundi and the ocelot. If you want to try to capture a snapshot with some of these large mammals, this is the place for your next audiovisual production or photographic shooting.

Puerto Viejo is a small town located on the Atlantic Coast in the Province of Limón and has one of the most beautiful landscapes in Costa Rica. There are crystalline blue waters, good waves for surfers … and sunny sunsets.

Tortuguero

And just for the mere fact that you arrive by boat and not by road, make this a destination like few others. On the one hand it is carried away by the Caribbean rhythm and the coconut milk that is served in wooden cabins painted with bright colors. But on the other, it allows you to take a look at the beaches where marine turtles come to lay their eggs at night. Sunsets, reddish sunrises reflected in the crystal clear water with the simple company of nature, and inland a network of channels that can be explored in canoes. You can not ask for more for your audiovisual production or photographic shooting.

The Costanera Sur route

At first glance it might seem a simple road, but this route runs through some of the most beautiful coastal areas in Costa Rica. The tour begins in San José and the first beach you will find is Jaco, a popular beach. Next to it are the beaches of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. As you advance along the Costanera you will also find inaccessible and unnamed beaches, natural landscapes that few people can access. Before arriving at Punta Uvita and joining the Interamerican Highway, you will pass through the Ballena Marine National Park.

Talamanca and the Bribrí indigenous reserve

The Bribrí indigenous reserve is located in the province of Puntarenas, in the Talamanca Region. Its inhabitants are dedicated to fishing, hunting and agriculture, although they also make baskets, musical instruments and other crafts. The access is not quite simple and although there are now companies that offer tours through the region, it is still not very well known. If you want to capture history and local cultur, this is the ideal location for your next audiovisual project.

Cerro Chirripó

The highest mountain in Costa Rica should be a must. Not only to conquer the heights after a demanding walk, but because from the top of the Chirripó you can enjoy beauties and natural wonders not visible in other parts of the country. The spectacular conical shape of the Arenal Volcano, which imposes itself on the plains of northern Costa Rica, is the perfect welcome. Hot springs, horseback riding, viewpoints, forest and hanging bridges are just some of the options. Do not forget to visit the great Arenal Lake and the beautiful La Fortuna Waterfall, both under the imposing look of the massif.

The Irazú Volcano has a lake inside the crater that has been formed by the inactivity of the volcano for a long time. The intense greenish color of the water is the result of a combination of light and minerals in the water.

You choose the volcano that best suits the needs of your next audiovisual project. Everyone has their particular charm!

Green Mount

The Monteverde Cloud Forest is one of the most incredible ecosystems in Costa Rica. An always green paradise, full of many things to do while admiring the wonders of the place. A subtropical mountain area that much of the time is covered in fog, a constant humidity that generates an ecosystem covered in moss and dense vegetation.

Butterfly farms, hanging bridges, the possibility of bungee jumping, bird watching and a huge amount of fronds that will make you want to visit even the most remote parts of the forest. Spectacular backgrounds, activities and observation of animals for your audiovisual production or photographic shooting.

Coco Island

Some 532 kilometers from the Pacific shore of Costa Rica is the most remote destination in the country … but one of the most incredible. The marine wealth of giant proportions makes Coco Island one of the favorites of marine biologists from all over the world. Thousands of species of fish, sharks and even cetaceans in one unique diving experience. Declared a World Heritage Site, this island is justly worthy of the title. So if you want to be near paradise in your audiovisual project, this is the perfect location.

Rincon de la Vieja

It is an area of dense rainforest, but among the foliage, vapour comes out of boiling pools. There are also areas where mud is boiling, and places where the temperature becomes unbearable. Below the surface, the activity of the nearby volcano is present, although it hardly gives any indication. It is an unusual combination of geothermal activity covered by a dense jungle, and they say, it is one of the most fascinating corners of the whole country.

Lakes that contain sulphur dioxide, steam, thermal activity in the middle of the green and an incredible biodiversity that could even overwhelm the volcano. An incredible variety of locations to choose from for your next audiovisual production or photographic shooting.
